Closed Spiral Belts: production, application and expertise
Ask Tribelt about closed spiral belts on tribelt.nlWhat a closed spiral belt is
A closed spiral belt is a metal conveyor belt for processes that need a dense carrying surface, a stable run and precise product guidance. It is known in English as a compound balanced belt. Wire spirals are woven tightly into each other to form a flat, strong surface. Small products can travel on it safely, and the belt holds up under high temperatures and mechanical stress.
Main features:
- Dense surface: small items do not fall through or get damaged.
- Stability: the belt runs straight and predictably.
- Heat resistance: suitable for processes up to about 1,150 °C.
- Made to measure: built to the needs of the specific process.
Benefits
- Continuity: steady, straight running keeps downtime and product loss down.
- Robustness: copes with heavy loads and high heat, so the belt lasts longer.
- Even heat transfer: the dense surface treats products uniformly in ovens, sterilisers and heat treatment lines.
- Easy maintenance: Tribelt's in-house production gives consistent quality and straightforward replacements.
- Product protection: small items stay on the belt and are not damaged.
Applications
- Bakery: oven belts on which products are baked directly.
- Pharmaceuticals: sterilisation tunnels for controlled processing of medicines.
- Metal and glass: annealing, tempering, hardening, sintering and brazing.
- Mechanical engineering: discharge belts for machining equipment.
- Heat treatment: curtains or screens that keep heat inside tunnel furnaces.
- Decorative products: for instance in jewellery making, where precision matters.
Tribelt variants and options
- Wide spiral belt WG-I with multiple inserts for versatile use.
- Narrow spiral belt with S-hook (ES) for very small products and precise guidance.
Typical specifications are a pitch of 5 to 25 mm, wire diameters of 0.8 to 3.15 mm, temperatures up to 1,150 °C and widths up to 4,000 mm. Options include side chains, flights, welded edges, raised side plates and PE1000 contact strips for quiet support. Because Tribelt produces everything in-house in Haaksbergen, it can adapt each belt to unusual temperatures, loads or product sizes. See the closed spiral belts product page for full data.
Why choose a closed spiral belt
Where precision, stability and product protection come first, a closed spiral belt is a key part of the line. It combines a dense surface, a solid build and good heat transfer with the flexibility of custom manufacturing. In practice that means fewer damaged or lost products, a long service life with little maintenance, and a production process that keeps running.
