## A growing market with specific demands

More and more consumers choose plant-based alternatives made from soy, peas, lupin or other protein sources. For producers this means lines that must be reliable, hygienic and able to scale with demand.

During production the raw materials are mixed, formed, cooked or coated, often in the presence of heat, moisture and fat. Tribelt, the Dutch manufacturer of metal conveyor belts, supplies belts that resist heat, clean easily and keep products moving steadily under intensive use.

## Processes Tribelt supports

- **Raw material handling:** soy, peas, lupin and other proteins need robust, hygienic transport. Tribelt belts are designed to limit dust and are simple to maintain, reducing contamination risks. Width, material and cleaning-friendly details are chosen per raw material, and belt configuration and speed are agreed with the customer.
- **Mixing and extrusion:** a steady feed to mixers and extruders is essential. Open stainless steel belts or coated surfaces keep sticky or moist masses from adhering. Tribelt advises on belt direction, incline and speed so the extruder can work at full capacity.
- **Forming and coating:** after extrusion, products are shaped, textured and sometimes coated. Special drives, adjustable guides and modular tracks handle different sizes and shapes, and belt choice takes weight, size and surface into account to avoid damage.
- **Packing and dispatch:** integration with weighing and packing machines, covers, discharge points and safety features help raise throughput and reduce stoppages.
- **Custom work:** every plant-based line has its own challenges. Tribelt analyses the process with the customer, advises on materials and design and delivers belts that are reliable, efficient and hygienic.
