## A factory tour for future engineers

De Spiraal and Tribelt once again hosted a large group of Mechanical Engineering students in their first year at two universities: the University of Twente and VU Amsterdam (Vrije Universiteit). As in the previous year, the students were working on a design challenge: building a device that throws an object without an electric motor.

The group toured De Spiraal's production department and the production hall of sister company Tribelt BV, which makes metal conveyor belts. Behind the scenes, they saw how the companies' products could be used in their own technical projects.

## Springs in the spotlight

This time the students were most interested in De Spiraal's compression, extension and torsion springs. The companies enjoyed seeing their everyday work connect with the students' learning goals, thanked the students and lecturers for their enthusiasm and wished them success with their projects.
